RAISING THE LITTLE BARR'S

Mooners :)

CharleneComment
It's been just about a month since we returned from our honeymoon and we have kept very busy since then (which I will be updating about soon!) - but in the meantime, I just had to share our honeymoon with you! Spending 8 nights at Secrets Maroma Beach in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico was absolutely incredible and we are blessed to have such fond memories of our honeymoon. A honeymoon is a once in a lifetime trip; yes, we can go back there in the future, and yes, we hope to visit and explore an abundant amount of places/resorts in our future, but there will not be another trip like our honeymoon. I highly recommend taking your honeymoon immediately following the wedding, if possible, because that week was such a special time for us. We were on a natural high and feeling so in love. We were able to share such vibrant memories of our wedding as it was fresh in our heads, and celebrate the fact that we were exchanging vows and rings and shedding joyful tears just days before. It was a once in a lifetime trip that we certainly made the most of!

Just a little recap - we left the Monday following our wedding and we were beyond excited after months of planning. It surely lived up to all the hype! Upon arrival, we were given champagne with fruit, treated like royalty, and the moment we walked out from checking in, our concierge greeted us with "Welcome home, Mr. & Mrs. Barr!" Not only did we have no clue how he knew our names already, but we were also basking in glory with the thought of "Mr. & Mrs. Barr." He showed us to our room (with chilled champagne and fruit awaiting our arrival) and then it begun - a week of pure bliss! The food, the drinks, the staff and the atmosphere were everything we could have wanted and more.

Oh, and the photographers were just as great...

Secrets Maroma Beach - you were wonderful!

...and we're MARRIED!

Woohoo! We did it. We tied the knot. We took the plunge.
We said "I Do!" We got hitched.
However you want to say it, we are MARRIED!
[and this was us saying that as we walked down the aisle as husband and wife!]

It has been an amazing month. While I haven't updated here in a while, that just goes to show that we have been busy, busy, busy - in the best way possible! We drove down a week before the wedding, had a jam packed week, a wonderful rehearsal dinner, and a BEAUTIFUL wedding! Shortly after was our amazing 9 day honeymoon followed by quality time with family to reflect, recap, and exchange funny wedding stories in South Florida. We've been back in Georgia a little over a week now, and while I have SO much to update on, I'm just going to add some pictures to this post so you too can reflect on the amazing day we had.
[so much more to come later, I promise!]

Here is one half of our photographer couple whom we owe a very special thank you to! :)
And thank you to all of YOU, our family and friends,
for making every part of our wedding as special as it could be!
We love you!

Holy moly! Holy wedding projects! Holy messy house!
J and I are both officially on summer break - and we couldn't be happier! He ended his first year of med school with a bang - he did so well on his final (an A! I have to brag for him!) and we relaxed that first weekend like it was our job. That only lasted a little while before the wedding planning craziness stepped in. We are more than happy with everything we have been doing, but who knew these last couple weeks before the wedding consisted of so many small details?! Table arrangements, escort cards, meal finalizations, ceremony details, ceremony programs - and much, much more. I'd say the hardest part is planning a wedding from a different state. We have to pack up everything (into boxes stating their destination - church, hotel, reception) only to unpack and assemble some items once we arrive in South Florida. I must admit - that fiance of mine has been such a huge help! Who knew J could be so crafty? Now he can't use the excuse "but I don't know how, I'm just not as crafty as you" because he proved he can be :) DIY projects certainly cause a messy house, whew. Where is a Molly Maid when you need one?!
Tomorrow evening we are headed to the Mumford & Sons concert, and the following morning we'll be heading down for our big day. We can't wait to see our families and friends and have everyone all together at once. It should be lots of fun - so everyone should get your dancing shoes on and be ready for us :) In less than a week, we will officially "Become the Barr's!"

Love mi familia

School's outttt for the summer! Yes, it feels wonderful. What's even better is that over the long holiday weekend, my family came to visit! I've been waiting for them to make their way up 'round these parts, and we had a wonderful weekend. My niece is almost 6 months old and changes every time I see her - she just keeps on getting cuter!
My mom and I brought Arianna to Suwanee Town Center and walked around, went into a couple shops, got some lunch, and ended our outing with frozen yogurt..yum..
Gotta love dinner with the familia
We had plenty of time to relax(which felt greattt), watch movies, and enjoy our time together.
I loved having family around to keep me company while J had to study most of the weekend (one more test! so close...)

We celebrated my brother's birthday
with a barbeque, friends,
food, beer, and family..
those are some great ingredients
for a good time :)
(oh yeah, and carvel cake, too!)
So now we can
officially say
the next time we'll see our family
will be for our wedding....
and we are so excited for the good times
to come and the
memories to be made!
